Qué es esta herramienta

Es un complemento para funcionalidades no incluidas actualmente en Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft. Básicamente, podrás guardar mazos sacados de internet y llevar un seguimiento de las cartas que vas jugando durante una partida.

Pero si ya tenías una, ¿por qué otra?

Realmente es la evolución de la anterior. La anterior surgió en la beta, como medida puntual y rápida para llevar seguimiento del mazo. El almacenamiento, aunque posible, generaba errores y sólo podía sacar datos de una web. Además, tomaba las cartas online de otro sitio, cosa que no es muy ética :D Si unimos a eso las mejoras añadidas...

Vale. Pero ya hay otras herramientas similares. ¿Por qué otra más? Además, ¿se pueden usar o no?

¿Y por qué no otra más? Realmente es una página web, por lo que la podrás usar en cualquier plataforma y dispositivo. Sobre si se pueden usar o no, dejemos algunas cosas claras:

• Durante tu turno de juego, tienes un minuto y medio para hacer lo que quieras. Puedes hacer cálculos, tomar notas o llevar seguimiento de las cartas jugadas. Da igual que lo hagas con lápiz y papel, o con algún complemento que los sustituya. Esto está confirmado por los desarrolladores.
• Ahora bien: Usar herramientas no significa que todo esté permitido. Hay apartados de los términos de uso que se deben respetar y que muchas otras herramientas no lo hacen: automatismos, minería de datos, modificación del programa, ya sea en memoria o físicamente...
• Por otro lado, unido a esto, tenemos la experiencia de usuario: otros complementos presentan demasiada información en pantalla, poniendo en clara desventaja a aquellos que no los usan. Si unimos a esto que no están disponibles en todas las plataformas, tendremos un desequilibrio en cuanto a experiencia de juego, muy grande.

Visto todo esto, se entiende por qué puede ser útil y totalmente legal esta herramienta/página web:

• No hay automatismos: Cada carta que sale tienes que ir quitándola tú del listado manualmente; Si quieres cargar mazos en el juego, deberás añadirlos manualmente.
• No hay minería de datos: Toda la información está tomada "offline" y sin tocar el cliente de juego, ni en funcionamiento (memoria) ni en disco.
• No hay modificación de cliente: La página web/herramienta es una ventana aparte, sin interacción e independiente de tu juego. Si quieres la usas, si no, no.
• No hay efecto en la experiencia de usuario: No se muestra información extra que no tendrías tú en un papel, ni se hacen cálculos automáticos ni se muestra ninguna ventaja de ningún tipo. A efectos, es como tener el mazo apuntado en un papel y vas tachando las cartas que salen, para llevar un seguimiento de las que te quedan.

Bueno. Pues vale. ¿Cómo funciona?

Al ser una página web, la puedes abrir desde cualquier navegador en cualquier plataforma (computador personal, smartphone, tablet...). Puedes incluso jugar en computador y llevar el seguimiento desde la tablet. Los controles son igual de sencillos para unas plataformas que para otras: pulsaciones de ratón para computadores, deslizamientos o pulsaciones con el dedo para dispositivos táctiles. La información de los mazos se guarda en tu dispositivo, pero se puede exportar a un archivo de texto para hacer copia de seguridad, o para importarla desde otro dispositivo y así compartir tus mazos entre ellos. Los datos se almacenan en el navegador con la técnica conocida como "LocalStorage". Todos los navegadores modernos la tienen y no conlleva ningún riesgo. Además, el código está disponible en GitHub y puedes comprobar qué hace y cómo lo hace. No hay misterios ni cosas raras :) Puedes importar mazos desde muchos sitios web de Hearthstone: Bien desde la dirección de una guía del mazo, o desde un constructor de mazos, o desde el texto HTML exportado de muchos de estos sitios. En la ayuda tienes un listado del total de sitios disponibles (unos treinta). Por defecto, la herramienta tiene pre-cargados los mazos básicos que contiene el juego. Si aún no tienes muchas cartas y no te has hecho ningún mazo, jugando con los que vienen por defecto, ya los tienes cargados para poder llevar el seguimiento desde ya ^^

Y poco más. Tanto en la página/herramienta como en PDF hay una guía de cómo funciona, aunque creo que es muy intuitiva. Por último, mencionar que están incluidos todos los idiomas actuales del juego, con sus correspondientes cartas :D Espero sea útil :)

Puedes descargarla desde aquí y usarla en tu dispositivo o acceder a la dirección web de mi alojamiento. Escoge lo que prefieras. Si descargas este repositorio, abre la página principal desde tu navegador; En caso contrario, accede al sitio online como si de otra página se tratara.

Funcionalidades:

• Importación de mazos de diversos sitios web (ya sea de guías, constructores de mazos o textos HTML exportados)
• Importación/Exportación de los mazos guardados en formato texto (JSON)

• Previsualización de cartas
• Información de cartas en pantalla, así como el seguimiento de las que vas jugando durante la partida
• Mazos básicos pre-cargados en la propia página/herramienta

Próximamente (sin tiempo estimado):

• Creador de mazos
• Más sitios de los que importar mazos
• Gestión de mazos almacenados (si se guardan muchos, la lista aumenta y se hace poco manejable)
• Simulador de mazos (faltan por pulir un par de aspectos, pero ya hay uno totalmente funcional con distintos algoritmos de mezclado para probar la aleatoriedad :D)

What is this?

It is a helper tool for features not included into Hearthstone: Heros of Warcraft. In esence, you can keep decks taken from web sites and track your played/drew card while playing.

But... You already have one, why another one?

To be honest, it is an improved (almost evolved) version of the old one. I made the other one in the early beta, as a quick and simple way to keep track of my deck. The storage, in example, has issues and I can import data from only one web site. Also, I took the cards from an external site, which is not ethic :D Adding the new features to all this...

Hmmm But there are another similar tools around. Why a new one? also, are they allowed/legal?

First of all: Why not another one? At the end, it is only a web page, so you can use it under any platform and device. Secondly, for the allowed/legal thing, let's clarify some things:

• You have a minute and a half to do what you want during your turn. You can do maths, take notes or keep a track of played cards. It doesn't matter if you do it with paper and pen, or using a tool that does the same. This is confirmed from developers. The key is: you must do all work, not the tool (i.e. using automations)
• However: Using tools doesn't mean that all is allowed. There are sections in the Terms of Use that you must obbey and many other tools do not: automations, data mining, program modification (either in memory or physically) ...
• Moreover, in addition to that, we have the "user experience" thing: other tools have much information on the screen, putting at a significant disadvantage to those who do not use them. If we add to this that these tools are not available on all platforms, we will have a large imbalance in terms of gameplay.

Having all this, anyone will understand why this tool /web page may be useful and totally legal:

• No automations: You have to remove manually from the list each drawn card; If you want to load decks in the game too, you must add them manually in the ingame deck constructor.
• No data mining: All information is taken "offline" without playing the game client or running it or taking data from disk.
• No client modification: The tool / web page is a separate window without interaction with your game and independent of it.
• No impact on (other) user experience: No additional information is displayed that you would not have on paper, no automatic calculations are made, and no other advantages. For the record: it's like having a paper with your deck on it, and you're crossing out the drawn cards, to keep track of the reamining ones.

Ok. Right. How does it work?

Being a webpage, you can open it from any browser on any platform (personal computer, smartphone, tablet ...). You can even play on computer and keep track from a tablet. The controls are simple for all platforms: computer uses mouse clicks and touch devices use finger swipes or pulsations. Deck information is stored on your device, but can be exported to a text file for backup, or to import it on another device, and / or to share your decks between them. Data is stored in the browser with the technique known as "LocalStorage". All modern browsers have it and it has no risk. In addition, the code is available on GitHub and you can see what it does and how it does it. No mysteries or weird things inside :) You can import decks from many Hearthstone fan sites: By using the url from a deck guide, the url from a deck builder, or even using the HTML exported from many of these sites. You have a list of all available sites (around thirty) in the help. The tool has pre-loaded the basic decks from the game. If you do not have cards to made your own decks and you play the default ones, you already have them included to keep track from now! ^^

Finally, there is a guide in both (the web page / tool and the PDF file) to show how it works, but I think it's very intuitive. Finally, I have to mention that all current languages of the game are included, with their corresponding cards: D

Wait! How to use it?

You can download it from here and use it on your device, or go to the url where I host it online. Choose what you like: If you download this repository, unpack it and open the home page from your browser; Otherwise, go to the online url like browsing any other web page.
