In order to deploy this application locally, there are a few things that you will need to do.
After cloning this project, you will need to start two separate processes at the command prompt:
-
Navigate from the top of this directory to the solr folder and start the solr server:
cd solr java -jar start.jar (This starts the solr server)
-
Now, start up a new window/tab at the command prompt and go back up to the top of the application directory and start the rails server:
cd .. rails server
You are now hosting the application on your machine. The next thing you will need to do is launch your web browser and put the following address in your address bar:
http://localhost:3000/
When you are finished using this application, go back to your command prompt and input control-C into each window/tab to stop the local servers.
