The C-API and the fortran bindings that use them have been marked as deprecated in #137. Since we haven't had any feedback to hold off with the removal, we will remove the C-API completely soon. If you have not been aware of the deprecation until now, and are still in need of the C-API, please let us know (e.g. by simply responding to this issue).
