Inverted smart window margins feature #1099
Comments
What I do is I only have two layouts enabled.. 3 Column Middle and
Floating.
When I just want to run one window or basically quickly disable Amythst for
just that one "Space", I just hit my hotkey to toggle to the other
layout... works great!

I have a 49" ultra wide. When I launch a single window it spans the full
display. This is annoying as most apps are not designed for such wide
displays (finder, most websites instead).
*Describe the solution you'd like*
Something like an inverse of the smart window margins feature, which only
applies margins if the there is only one window open on the display would
solve the problem.
It should be possible to have both "smart window margins" and "inverted
smart window margins" enabled at the same time, such that if the layout is
fullscreen, the margins are not applied - this would solve the problem of
having multiple monitors connected where one is a smaller monitor running
the fullscreen layout and one is an ultra wide.
*Describe alternatives you've considered*
Disabling Amethyst when running a single app.

I'd love this as well. It'd be preferable to a custom layout that centers a single window because I want this behavior on all tiled layouts except for fullscreen. |
