The problem originates from that post https://dev.icinga.org/issues/8540#note-11 and only affects Debian. The commit where the crash reports where introduced was not carried over to icinga2-debian.git once it was stripped out of icinga2.git which is why the Debian packages currently do not create that directory.

Created a separate issue for the Debian packages, as I will only add the directory creation inside the icinga application in this issue.
