However, the link for the pptx version is pointed to
https://www.ietf.org/proceedings/95/slides/slides-95-stir-2.pdf.pptx
when that '.pdf.' interstitial bit shouldn't be there...

Problem isn't exhibiting today.
Not sure if there was a fix, or if there is a transient error on new uploads perhaps?

Fixed the multiple (incorrect) extension problem for some materials links. Fixes issue #1947.
