In an AuditEvent that is describing a network interaction, should response time be recorded in the .period element? Who would be responsible for recording this response time? This seems too undefinable in abstract actor terms. Thus should it be given as guidance without constraints or requirements?

nice idea. Clients and Servers could record in the .period when they started a query, and when they got the response. Thus able to track search performance over time... but this is not considered fundamental to the use-cases of BasicAudit to have profiled or even mention.
