Group events by day?

When a day has multiple events (like a HWC day), it would be nice for those to be grouped to easier show that they are all on the same day.

However, grouping by day when there is only one event in the month is redundant.

I'm struggling to find the right way to handle all the combinations of cases.

Feel free to chime in with design ideas that can handle all the different kinds of events.

Hey Aaron.

Here's how I'm thinking about this. The day is low in importance for some decision making. Month, event, and number of days could be more important.

Keep Months as the major grouping. Have each event sorted by the start date, then show the days it's running with a graphical element (colored background) to easy see how many "blocks" they'll take up.

Optional color coding of blocks to highlight they happen in the same month. That way if something breaks across months (which happens) the colors could tie them together.
