I'm filing this issue to record the intent to drop Python 2.7 after the next release (0.14). Python 2.7 is officially unsupported by the PSF and I don't think it makes sense to continue supporting Python 2.7 in this project, as it imposes overhead.

If there are security releases to the zstandard library or critical bugs uncovered, I'll consider releasing point releases of 0.14 that continue to support Python 2.7. But this isn't guaranteed.

This completes the process for dropping support for Python 2.7
and closes #109.
