getColumn getColumnType and getColumnName should behave like lodash get and default to a value

currently getColumn(colName) for a column that doesn't exist throws an error which requires user to handle errors or check if colName is in table.
It would be more helpful to program against if getColumn(columnName, default) would return default instead.
