This patch removes the automatic naming of the service based on the binary name of the application when the environment variable INSTANA_SERVICE_NAME is not provided.

Originally this feature was added in order to enhance how the service name is displayed in the dashboard. But it caused some side effects when the application is deployed in different ways.
Instana backend is able to properly set the service name in cases like this.
Customers are still able to manually set the service name either via the INSTANA_SERVICE_NAME environment variable or via Options.
