#=============================================================================# # ABOUT # #=============================================================================# Person in charge: - Christophe Sureau <christophe.sureau@intel.com> Developers: - Julian Dumez <julianx.dumez@intel.com> - Sebastien Boeuf <sebastien.boeuf@intel.com> #=============================================================================# # PREREQUISITES # #=============================================================================# This application is based on web framework Symfony 1.4.x and PHP5. It would be easy for any person with basic comprehension of PHP OO and MVC web frameworks to read and edit source code. And as far as Symfony works as a library and is included in application, there is no need to download and/or install it. 1. Third-party softwares ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ - PHP5+ - MySQL - Apache2 - phpMyAdmin (recommended) 2. Packages ~~~~~~~~~~~ Debian packages: $ sudo apt-get install php5 apache2 mysql-server apache2 phpmyadmin Additional packages: $ sudo apt-get install php5-ldap sendmail 3. Third-party licenses ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ This software also includes some libraries and components released under MIT and GPL licenses. These licenses are available in file headers or in independant license file located next to their libraries. Components used in this application are: - Symfony -- MIT license - JQuery -- MIT license - JQuery UI -- MIT license - Bluff -- GPL and MIT licenses - QaReports -- GPL license #=============================================================================# # INSTALLATION # #=============================================================================# Move this application to your www/ or htdocs/ server's directory. 1. Application configuration ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Check basic PHP configuration with given configuration checker: $ php ./lib/vendor/symfony/data/bin/check_configuration.php Create following directories: $ mkdir cache/ log/ $ chmod 777 cache/ log/ web/uploads/ Create symlink: $ cd web/ $ ln -s ../lib/vendor/symfony/lib/plugins/sfDoctrinePlugin/web sfDoctrinePlugin Customize settings files: - config/databases.yml - config/app.yml At last, build databases through Symfony command line: $ symfony doctrine:build --all A minimum dataset is required in the database to use the application. You can add these entries by hand, but I don't recommend, because it requires a good comprehension of MySQL databases and of the application's data model. So I strongly recommend that you run the following command line, which will add this minimum dataset for you: $ symfony doctrine:build --all --and-load You can at least configure values of this minimum dataset in the file: data/fixtures/fixtures.yml /!\ Be careful, these two last steps will drop databases (if exist) identified in config/databases.yml 2. Database migration ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ It is possible to migrate database from an old QaReports to this DB application. Contact people in charge to get more informations... 3. Configuring emails ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Email configuration can be done in: config/factories.yml 4. Configuring cookies ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Cookies are important if you plan to run multiple instance of TRC on the same server. Each cookie name have to be unique in order to manage correctly sessions. See "storage" section of following file: config/factories.yml Variable "session_name" contains the name of the cookie. #=============================================================================# # CONFIGURATION # #=============================================================================# 1. Enable mod_rewrite and URL rewriting ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To enable mod_rewrite in your Apache server, run: # a2enmod rewrite # service apache2 restart Then edit apps/frontend/config/settings.yml and set no_script_name option to true for your production environment: prod: .settings: no_script_name: true 2. Update .htaccess ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ If your instance of QaReports have an URL like : http://your-server-hostname/trc You will have to edit web/.htaccess to add the directory name to the rewrite rule: l.21 RewriteRule ^(.*)$ /trc/index.php [QSA,L] 3. Fields' templates ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ TRC can provide already filled information for some fields like QA Summary, Environment Summary, ... For this you need to do those additioanl steps: a. Edit config file in: apps/frontend/config/app.yml Example: all: .array: # Prefill form fields with templates located in TRC_ROOT_DIR/web/templates/ # Naming convention: # <template_FIELD_NAME>: _file_name.txt prefill_templates: template_qa_summary: _qa_summary.txt template_environment_summary: _my_env_summary.txt b. Templates have to be located in: TRC_ROOT_DIR/web/templates/ _qa_summary.txt _my_env_summary.txt c. If already running instance, you need to clear the cache: $ symfony cc
