If you are using Additive 1.17.2 or higher, this is no longer a worry. C2ME is no longer shipped with the modpack since then, and so the chance of data corruption is near zero. If you are worried about data corruption and are on an older version of Additive, remove C2ME.
I don't usually like to make benchmarks comparing different modpacks. A lot of factors have to be considered when doing so, and this can lead to misleading benchmarks if not done correctly. However, I can give a general comparison between different modpacks and what features they provide. In this case, I'll compare Fabulously Optimized, as I get asked about that a lot. Additive and Fabulously Optimized are pretty similar modpacks, however they do have a few differences. This doesn't mean either modpack is bad, however I would consider these if choosing between them.
- Adrenaline (the project Additive is built from) typically adopts more optimization mods and has more config files, resulting in being faster in some cases. This can depend on hardware configuration and should be manually tested by the user.
- Additive supports both Quilt and Fabric, whereas Fabulously Optimized only supports Fabric, missing out on some mods like LambdaBetterGrass and Ok Zoomer, requiring to replace those mods with alternatives. Some of those alternatives have their downsides, such as Fast Better Grass as it doesn't support Fancy grass.
- Additive does not change any of Minecraft's settings, other than simulation distance, whereas Fabulously Optimized changes quite a few.
- Additive has less QOL mods, notably being No Chat Reports. I don't exactly want to make heavy changes and I especially don't want to try blocking what Mojang wants to enforce. You can easily add NCR manually if you want it, but the mod isn't for everyone. FO also has a few other things, such as extended chat history and some bug fixes.
- Additive is only on Modrinth, whereas Fabulously Optimized is distributed on both CurseForge and Modrinth.
If you like the extra mods and config changes that Fabulously Optimized has and you only use the latest versions of Minecraft, go for that! If you prefer Additive being more simple, staying more true to vanilla, having less QOL, and some more optimizations, or want both Fabric and Quilt support, consider trying it out. You should use the modpack that works best in your use-case. Both modpacks have their pros and cons.

Yes, you can! Feel free to use this in any way you want! All I ask for is credit somewhere. You don't have to give credit - after all it's just a Minecraft modpack, but I spend lots of time maintaining this and it would help a ton. If you do want to give credit, just put the Modrinth page in there. Also, I would prefer you not to include this project's name in the fork (for example, something like "Additive Plus") as it could confuse users and can make it seem like I endorse it.
