A new version of the Contestant Virtual Machine has been released.

CMS access is included, an early online practice contest is available until August 23rd. We strongly encourage all contestants to participate and familiarize themselves with the software environment of the competition. Internet access is disabled. The release is considered feature complete, we cannot accept more feature requests. Bug reports are kindly requested to be submitted in GitHub until August 8th to allow propagation to the final image.

For the operating system, the username is ioi and the password is ioi. After login, the user will be prompted to run the IOI Setup with the contestant credentials. The contestant credentials can be obtained by the team leader from the IOI bot in Matrix (Element). The CMS is accessible from the home page of Firefox, and the contestant is logged in automatically (if IOI Setup has been completed). The evaluation of submissions may take much longer than it will during the real contest because of limited number of machines.

The release can be downloaded at: UPDATE: if the download fails try logging into your Google account

UPDATE: As we have approached the limit on Google Drive, we have uploaded it to MEGA, which supports large data transfer: https://mega.nz/file/MuVjUAaI#pZ1vCRZ8LVcCOm1tuZPYI5655BrpgDix8Cmnp1Rm8eI (SHA-256: 2462c5704303cd4c82ecf02d3c79367bcb2564105f96656938bdf37917ea6156)

UPDATE for devices with low memory: it might be useful to download from here: https://mega.nz/folder/MzNnSbCS#093o_kqlIotQMDxwWMDSIw

Do download the folder's contents file by file: that is the point of this kind of workaround (of the issue https://webapps.stackexchange.com/questions/111061/what-is-the-best-way-to-download-big-files-form-mega-nz ).
The zip can be unpacked if the other files are in the same directory. (multipart zip)
For Linux: https://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/40480/how-to-unzip-a-multipart-spanned-zip-on-linux

The VM uses 2 vCPU-s and 4GB RAM by default. This can be reduced to 1 vCPU and 2GB RAM in VMware Workstation Player, if a contestant doesn't have access to strong hardware.
