Migrated from https://github.com/ipython/nbconvert/issues/148

It seems like nbconvert --to html can't render this...

Original

the following snippet :

\begin{equation*}
P(E)   = {n \choose k} p^k (1-p)^{ n-k}
\end{equation*}

Is not rendered correctly on nbviewer, as part between stars is detected as emphase.

Cf last notebook of IPython-in-depth.

It should work fine in master (if node is available), since the exact same code is used to render markdown as the live notebook.

This does work in master, sorry for moving this over. It didn't work on my first try, but it was a user error. Forgot to save the notebook before converting it!
