Even something as simple as this Jekyll site we made for the data analysis class might be helpful for folks who don't want to just start pouring through code to learn this.

+1 We created a more generic, stand-alone tutorial for the intermediate class on RTD. Then we distilled bits of that tutorial into a single day of teaching at NICAR this year. Goal was to have something stand-alone for folks who couldn't make the class, as well as a resource/refresher for those who could.
