Do you know if it is possible to perform I2C communication using the arduino wire library within a DueTimer interrupt? I know this was previously possible on the mega2560 by using the command sei() within the interrupt.
Thanks

It is possible, but requires some testing. When I did, I got problems when
doing something on the main program (like sending over I2C or Serial) and
then doing the same thing on the interrupt. That breaks the code and makes
it really hard to debug as it happens and there is no "warning' on Serial,
just Halt from the microprocessor.
however, I suggest you to try it out, and place a `noInterrupts()` and
`interrupts()` before and after when doing something from the main code
(aka: not an interruption). That makes sures that a interrupt wont be
called in the mean time (until interrupts has been called)
