I made sure that there are no existing issues - open or closed - which I could contribute my information to.
I have taken the time to fill in all the required details. I understand that the bug report will be dismissed otherwise.
This issue contains only one bug, that only occurs in Squawker
Affected version
3.5.2
Steps to reproduce the bug
Open Squawker with no data but with exported settings/subscriptions
Import them
While subscriptions are visible immediately in the subscriptions tab, the feed tab is empty and not populated.
Even trying to refresh it, with both the button and a gesture doesn't works (note: slide gesture to refresh sometimes doesn't do the job even in regular use, but I'm still unable to understand the specific circumstances where this happens).
Restart the application: feed is filled.
Expected behavior
Feed can be viewed immediately after import; at the very least refresh should work.
Actual behavior
For the feed to be visible, the application must be restarted after importing settings. Note that this might also happens when just adding a new subscription that might not be considered immediately.
Screenshots/Screen recordings
This is the feed screen post import.
Screenshot
After trying to refresh manually (slide or button), the text disappears, but nothing more happens.
Logs
No response
Affected Android/Custom ROM version
Android Oreo (8.0)
Affected device model
Xperia XZ
Additional information
I've some filtering tool that filters some network access for more privacy (tools such as TrackerControl, Blokada or RethinkDNS) which needs to allow access to Twitter, so it's one manipulation post-install after the first time it tries to access it; however after authorizing it it doesn't change anything and anyway for the case underlined here it seems it didn't even tried to access Twitter.

I edited first message to hide the screenshot inside a details tag, otherwise it's putting a giant screenshot in the middle of the message. This might be nice to adapt the template to do this by default, I guess?
