When clicking on a either a tweet or profile link, the application launch showing either the tweet or profile page.
In the application, both those kind of pages do not have top and bottom toolbars.
So it's normal that you don't see the top and bottom toolbars in that use case.

But what you really want I think is the ability to go back to the home page (with the top and bottom toolbars) once the application has launched to show the tweet or profile page, which you cannot do at the moment.

I will add the ability to go back to the home page in this use case.

Version 3.3.3 implements this feature.

I guess I understand what you mean, it is a nice add too, but in this case it is a bug. The main window where we see both toolbars just miss sometimes, I couldn't pinpoint exactly which circumstances triggers this. If this happens when visiting a profile or tweet it also miss the arrow back function, the only way to get back is closing and opening the app again.

Confirming that in 3.3.3 it still happening. The app was open in the main window with both toolbars displaying, I then downloaded the apk, updated and clicked open from package manager. The app was displayed with the main window lacking both toolbars, closing and opening again restored the toolbars.

I tried the steps you are describing and I don't have any problem on my device.
I must use a different package manager or do things a bit differently.
Anyway if this happens only the first time after you install a new version of the application, it's just a minor annoyance.

Unless you find a use case that can happen from time to time while using the application (not changing its version), than I will close the issue.

It appears to be random, not specific to the android installer. My regular usage consists on returning to the app by touching the android task button and choosing the app window. Sometimes it display the window with the toolbars, sometimes missing, requiring restart. Sometimes I open the application first time via clicking on a x link in other apps and the window appears without the navigation bars. Couldn't figure out if there was any pattern to this bug being triggered, it just happens from time to time. The only hint I could possibly think is that maybe some implementation of the toolbars differ with Quacker and Fritter, I've been using both for a long time in the same phone and never had this bug before, so a minor change in their implementation may be the culprint?

What is the "android task button"? Could you provide a screenshot?

I will try to record next time it happens. Right now I'm testing new Quacker to see if the same problem is reproducible in their code. Task button I mean the third button on android interface (like "back button", "home button" and "task button") that shows all open applications in the phone in a given moment.

Yes please record it when it happens next.
When you select the application from the tasks in background, maybe the application reopens on another page than the feed page (which have the top and bottom toolbars)?
Maybe the application reopens on a tweet or profile page, which do not have the top and bottom toolbars?

From what I have experienced I've seen this happen both in the feeds screen, where there should be toolbars with the icons for different tabs, and in the tweet/profile where there should be a back arrow at the top. In both cases there is no navigation option, just the tweets contents. But it is not constant, it appears to be random and rare, but I use the app a lot so I've seen this happen a few times so far.

I confirm that this happens for me as well. Also random.
