If build fails on Mac Os install the brew version of readline:

/usr/bin/ruby -e "$(curl -fsSL https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Homebrew/install/master/install)"

Then install readline

brew install readline

brew link readline

Then proceed as usual

make

make install
