Hello @warrensearle we very briefly discussed this ticket yesterday. Tom and Maria raised the question of whether we wanted to turn this off and complete this work manually they come across requests to update packages when they complete a task. Is it possible to get your steer on this?

Hey @KateMJAC these PRs can always be closed and the suggested fixes applied manually, with others, if we prefer. The main thing is we need to keep on top of:

  • Our own code and any vulnerabilities it may have
  • Our dependencies and any vulnerabilities they may have

Both can 'develop' vulnerabilities at any time - e.g. whenever some clever programmer finds an exploit - and not just when we make code changes ourselves. So making sure we have alerts in place can be very useful.

I'd suggest we work through tools like the following (others are available) and decide how to best use them to help:

Be great if @jac-uk/jac-developers can be allocated regular time to stay on top of this.
