Cannot use the 's' key in input fields

What steps will reproduce the problem?
1. press "s" in any input field (for example, the raw input)

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?
the s key is shown

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?
OSX Lion

It seemed to work once or twice, but I can't use the s key which is a pretty big problem.

Please provide any additional information below.
