Ok, i will wait. (i am too excited.) |
I've decided I'm going to create U+1FAE9 Face with Eyebags |
The eyes aren't as low as seen in https://www.unicode.org/L2/L2023/23236-esc-report-q4-2023.pdf, which is what I accomplished. I was planning to use the frowning mouth asset from U+1F641 but it didn't look good, which is what you seem to be using in your revision of U+1FAE9 although the mouth is a bit modified from the original. |
ok 😀, but still using the revamped? |
|
maybe i should make my own version of twemoji |
no one's stopping you from making and maintaining your own fork of twemoji tbf |
here's the unicode document that mentions this btw |
There's several errors in this image:

Please, the github issues pages are not a forum |
Just an FYI, you don't have to wait until September 10th to release Twemoji 16.0. Google released Noto Color Emoji 15.1 five days before Unicode 15.1 released. |
We know :-) Historically we've aimed to beat all other major vendors' release cadences, but that was when we maintained Twemoji while employed by Twitter. Now the release cadence is very much "ideally before Unicode releases", but we have no strict target date for v16 right now. |
Should the dark grey bit end up as wide as the wooden shaft? |
I tried to accomplish that, but I can't seem to get the shading right. Maybe I'll give it another go. |
This interview with the person who proposed “face with bags under its eyes” has a big version of the proposed design: |
Oh yeah I saw that today! Does this mean they’re working on Twemoji again? |
It seems like they're working on Twemoji again, which means that we could potentially see emojis from Unicode 15.1! |
Did you know that the Sark flag has been added? |
🙂↕, however I don't know who will get to make the emoji for this repo |
