Wrote some more tests, found some more bugs.
Tried out the current code with the URL mentioned in the original article, didn't work because of rate limits, so I raised the cache size and it worked again.
@dbashlov please take a look if you are interested, and if you want to keep working on this package, I'll add you as a committer.
