Thanks so much for making this program! It is awesome!

Can we please get it on homebrew (OS X package manager) so that installation is easier?

Thanks

I added a command to download icdiff to a bin directory on Mac and Linux to http://www.jefftk.com/icdiff . Is homebrew support still something people want?

This is happening: Homebrew/legacy-homebrew#34758

it's python, why not just make it a python package?

@fly Because this probably won't be used as a python package, rather a command line tool.

@nayefc there are a number of CLI utilities that are distributed via PyPI

CLI utilities have a great home in PyPi; the important parts in setup.py are entry_points and py_modules.

how is this different from vimdiff in respect to options or functionality?

@sc68cal True, but managing CLI tools via an OS package manager is cleaner than installing them on root python lib. Small detail though so doesn't matter.

There is now a Homebrew formula for icdiff: Homebrew/legacy-homebrew@e7a2430

Just run brew update && brew install icdiff! 🤘

Website now lists brew install icdiff as an option.

Is there any reason it can't be available through both channels?

@athaeryn if someone would like to submit this to pypi that's fine with me. As of #16 we now have a setup.py.

@fly If someone would like to put it on pypi that would be great, but I'm happy with the current install process.

As of today, you can now install in Homebrew with --HEAD to get the tip of the master branch instead of a release tarball.
