If per-post permalinks can end in .html, is there a reason why they cannot end in .htm?

  • Write failing test
  • Write feature to make test pass

Question: why are you using .htm?

I am moving a site to Jekyll and want to keep the permalinks unchanged. Unfortunately, the permalinks end with .htm
__sigh**, I know.

Of course I could just redirect all the old URLs to new permalinks.

I am sure that most of the time a permalink ends in .htm it is just a typo.

It just feels like this is a bit more hand holding than I need for Blogging Like a Hacker ™️
