theme update to 2.1.1 cause nav tabs to disappear

Hi - When I updated the theme to 2.1.1, the tabs disappeared from the nav. Although there is an option for tabs, it doesn't look like tabs when I click it. It just puts the nav over the header image.

Any idea where to look for a fix?

I should also mention that the blue ribbon that the nav sits on is too wide. The page is a fixed width of 900px. I have tried changing that width to 1000px, since that is the recommended header width, but everything go wider, including the ribbon over-hang.

I will be searching the css for a fix, but if you know how to fix this quickly, I would appreciate the help - thanks.
