This is a great usability feature to make editing features more accessible. This could be done with edit buttons, or a single-click to select / double click to edit, or support other options. This depends on bug #322

Does this really depend on #322? It sounds like a mostly separate feature.

I guess it can be separated, but it's usefulness (making editing easier for non-technical folks) is increased a lot by #322 and I think that should take higher priority. But, you are right. These can be separated completely
