complete example, with pandoc call, using ::: incremental ?

I am trying to use ::: incremental with fenced_divs extension, and I am unable to see whether I am doing something wrong, or several installations of pandoc (I tried versions 3.1.8 on Gentoo Linux and on OpenBSD, and 2.19.2 on Fedora) are all broken/lacking features in some way. Here is an a example I tried:

% Habits
% John Doe
% March 22, 2005

# In the morning

## Getting up

- Turn off alarm
- Get out of bed

------------------

## Going to sleep

::: incremental

- Get in bed
- Count sheep

compiled with

pandoc --from=markdown+fenced_divs -s -t slidy -s a.txt -o a.html

or with

pandoc --from=markdown+fenced_divs -s -t beamer -s a.txt -o a.pdf

all simply display ::: incremental on the last slide, without any effect on the last list. Is my pandoc call wrong,or is my installations of pandoc to blame,or am I missing anything in the syntax?

I read https://pandoc.org/chunkedhtml-demo/10.2-incremental-lists.html - but it does not make me any wiser.
Here is one of my pandocs:

$ pandoc -v
pandoc 3.1.8
Features: +server +lua
Scripting engine: Lua 5.4
User data directory: /home/dima/.local/share/pandoc

The user data directory does not exist, and the fenced_divs seems to be enabled:

$ pandoc --list-extensions | grep divs
+fenced_divs
+native_divs

[dimpase]

Oh, it's just missing the closing :::! With it added at the end, all is good.

An error reporting missing closing :::, or at least a warning in the docs, might be great...
