Add the ability to create styles and assign them a name. Objects assigned with that style are then linked to that style, which can be changed from a central location.

Is this for developers running their own instance of draw.io or for users of the draw.io app?

I don't know what russkel's answer would be, but as I user I would find this extremely useful.

Developers: Add styles in https://github.com/jgraph/draw.io/blob/master/war/styles/default.xml
Users: The best solution is probably copy/paste style (Ctrl+Shift+C/V)

Just popped in to report this same feature request.

A use case..

In my diagram I have the following legend:

image

I would actually like to save the line style as named in the legend with a single-click application of that style to a selected line. This UI ...

... requires too many mouse clicks.

Any chance of re-opening this?

Cheers

You could use the scratchpad by adding the edge, then select the edge to be styled and shift+click the edge in the scratchpad: https://gyazo.com/295a040c2f51a6cb1b12fe211ce2759b

Apologies, this PR had slipped under my radar. I believe it was the draw.io app it should be added to. It was one of a few quality of life improvements I had thought about while using draw.io for a lot of university work. IIRC I didn't post the rest because of the lack of receptivity to such improvements.

@alderg Interesting, didn't know that. Will give that a try. Cheers

Just to say, named style would have the added benefit that if you changed the style after, it would re-apply it to the affected edges etc
