These are mods which compliment Ashfall mechanics in some way. All of these mods are ones which I personally use and can vouch for. Many of them also happen to be made by me.

"Adds a fishing mechanic with over 25 species of fish and dynamic fishing animations."

Fully integrated into Ashfall, with bushcrafting recipes for lures/fishing poles, and fish you catch can be cooked and eaten.

"Adds a feature-rich painting mechanic to Morrowind, letting you create sketches, oil and watercolor paintings, and charcoal drawings"

Fully integrated with Ashfall with bushcrafting recipes for easels, canvases, paintbrushes and more. What better way to pass the time while travelling the wilderness than to capture it in a painting?

"This mod adds ten Tea Merchants in the wilderness across Vvardenfell. Gather ingredients for some of the Tea Merchants and enjoy an exclusive discount."

An excellent add-on that adds tea merchants around the world. This mod is very well executed, with a lot of great little details. For example, if you sell an brewable ingredient to a tea merchant, that tea will become available to purchase.

"This mod adds Ashfall compatible Foods from all over Tamriel as well as a few shops and Food Outposts. It also adds ovens that can be used to bake bread and pies. More baking recipes are available if you have a rolling pin."

This is essentially a stripped down version of Necessities of Morrowind, made to be fully compatible with Ashfall.

"Simply adds more wells around Vvardenfell for a better Ashfall experience"

RandomPal has done a great job picking out some of the best Well meshes out there, placing them in logical locations around the world, and making them compatible with Ashfall using the Interop APIs.

"Since Ashfall provides a lot of cool camping-related assets, I added some tents and bedrolls to the bandit camps."

Another RandomPal addition, this mod populates the bandit camps found through the game with Ashfall camping gear.

"From 9pm to 8am, houses and shops in every city on the island are closed. (Inns, Guild Halls, certain Tradehouses, and other appropriate buildings will remain unlocked through nighttime hours)"

With Nighttime Door Locks, arriving in town on a dark and rainy night will have you searching desperately for an inn or tavern to take refuge in. While this is an older mod written in mwscript, I have never had any issues with it. It does not apply to land expansion mods like Tamriel Rebuilt, however.

For a more modern, Lua-based approach, check out NPC's Go Home (still in development).

"A weather overhaul with randomised cloud textures, more dynamic weathers, weather changes in interiors, seasonal weather chances, daytime hours changing with latitude and season, varied rain/snow density, dynamic cloud speeds etc."

I recommend disabling the weather chance changes and use Seasonal Weather of Vvardenfell instead (listed below). Watch the Skies makes Blight Storms a bit too frequent for my liking. Everything else in this mod is amazing.

"Realistic Repair overhauls the repair mechanic by making it so that repair hammers can only be used by activating an anvil, and prongs used by activating a forge."

One of the most important parts of any good survival game is that moment when you arrive back in civilisation, cold and hungry and beaten, when you get to spend the whole day recuperating, selling loot, repairing your gear etc. By forcing you to use anvils and forges to repair your equipment, Realistic Repair adds to this key aspect of the survival experience.

"Bed Buddies prevents you from sleeping in owned beds unless the owner really likes you."

With Ashfall, you'll need to find a bed if you want a good night's rest. Bed Buddies lets you sleep with your friends, which is always more fun than sleeping alone!

"This mod adds dynamic weather changes based on the seasons. Every time you sleep a script checks the month and adjusts the weather settings of each region according to the season."

It goes without saying that seasonal weather goes well with a survival mod like Ashfall. You might want to wait until Summertime before starting that Bloodmoon questline.

"The Publicans fixes several places in the vanilla game that are set up like inns, but in which Bethesda for some reason has forgotten to add the option to rent a room to."

Makes finding a place to rest a bit easier by adding Publicans in places where they should have been all along.

"Adds clock to UI that displays either game world time or real time (depending on settings)."

Lets you see the time without having to press the Rest button, an absolute must have. The default setting is real time, so make sure to change it to in-game time in the MCM.

"Quick Loadouts adds hotkeys for equipping entire sets of gear. You can customise whether a loadout includes weapons, armor, clothing and accessories in the MCM menu."

Like many of my mods, this was designed specifically with Ashfall in mind. Being able to switch between sets of clothing and armor makes temperature management a breeze.

"Go Fletch adds a brand new Fletching skill to the game."

Using Racer Plumes to craft arrows provides a great reason to go hunting, and adds to the self-reliant nature of being a survivalist.

"Allows your to tame and breed guars, and keep them as companions. Intelligent command menu gives unprecedented control over your guar. Attack enemies, fetch items, harvest plants etc. Build trust over time by keeping them happy and healthy to unlock more commands. Fight and play games to level up your guar."

Surviving the wilderness is just so much more fun with a guar companion. Especially one you can play fetch with.

The Guar Whisperer is designed to integrate with Ashfall. Survival gear carried by your guar appears on its pack, just like it would on your own backpack.

"Ashfall Survival Start is a Morrowind alternate start mod where you are the only survivor of a shipwreck and now stranded on a small, abandoned island."

Only recommended for veteran Ashfall users, this is a brutally difficult alternate start mod made for Ashfall and designed to push the limits of your survival abilities.
