densiometeR - documentation and changelog

Who is this for?
- Anyone who wants to experiment with pulling canopy density from images

REQUIREMENTS:
- Python

- This program is a heuristic approach to densiometer readings in the field.
To save time in the field and potentially those entering the data later, I tried my hand at digital processing.

This primarily uses Python

Further testing is in order to determine optimal balance of accuracy and efficiency. Bottom line is that benthic macroinvertebrate sampling densiometer readings
simply do not demand the precision that more involved researchers with smaller data sets may need. As spherical crown densiometer readings are already heavily
prone to human error, any error on the computer part is still likely to be far more accurate than a personal estimation

Notes:
Images sampled so far are either rectangular images found online for demo purposes, or rectangular images taken with/without a fisheye lens in the field for comparison's sake.
The fisheye part is likely important in mimicing the convexity of the SPHERICAL CROWN portion of the densiometer. The actual hemispherical aspect of the images doesn't seem
important unless I'm vastly oversimplifying the density calculation process. I've mapped some of the images from a cartesian plane to a polar coordinates so that it mimics
hemispherical photography. In theory, the total % of calculated canopy density shouldn't change much.

If we're trying to mimic the human estimation process to a tee, I can apply a densiometer overlay on top of the images and calculate each square's density.

Breakdown of 6/24 work:
- Creation of a filesize compressor for the images (as the iPhone images are too high resolution to be processed timely)? Maybe not necessary with Python
