Repository to illustrate GitHub use for the SCITE team
- Make an account.
- Download Github Desktop.
- Fork the repo from web.
- Clone the repo and select local directory to place in.
- Create text file with your name in local directory.
- Commit change in desktop app.
- Sync and commit to personal master branch.
- Explain local version control vs. remote/web version control. (which can also be done in delayed fashion)
- Explain about branching, its uses and do example.
- Pull request
- Merge
(If you delete a file, you can click the Repository menu item and select Discard Changes to Selected Files. This will restore the file.)
