I had this problem. Do not play JPG and PNG and stop the program when I tried to lower the PNG to the Timeline. I installed the last update and was solved. Now it's happening again. Possibly, something was updated. I have two computers with different graphic cards with Ubuntu 20.04.2 LTS an i7 with AMD GPU RX580 and another AMD 3200 with NVIDIA 760 Driver 460. The same thing is happening in both.

Моя версия Flawblade - (деб). Последний. Я предпочитаю его для Gmic, 80% плагинов Gmic работают в версии deb.
I do not understand how JPG differs from jpg. The smartphone takes pictures in JPG and flowblade does not understand this format, I recode it in GIMP as jpg, then flowblade starts working correctly.

I use flatpak because fedora 35 uses Python 3.10.0 and plans are in the future for Python 3.12. In general 'this issue: #1034

I found the problem in my case. I installed a clean Ubuntu 20.04.3 on a virtual machine and updated it, then installed Flowblade in the deb version. (2.8.0.2-1) and all jpg and png work properly.

I compared the dependency versions between the two systems and found that MLT has a small variant. The current Ubuntu version is 6.20 and I had 6.26 installed. I checked the PPAs and I had a Kdenlive PPA that updated MLT.

I disabled the PPA and uninstalled MLT, updated the system, reinstalled Flowblade with Gbebi and ready. Everything works again. The latest version of Flowblade deb only works with MLT 6.20, does not support the latest MLT updates. I don't think MLT 7 either.

Thank for help

This one probably isn't relevant anymore, and since a fix was found for it marking it 'fixed'. Please reopen if problem persists after 2.10
