ExPwned

Elixir client for haveibeenpwned.com

Installation

The package can be installed as:

  1. Add ex_pwned to your list of dependencies in mix.exs:
def deps do
  [{:ex_pwned, "~> 0.1.0"}]
end
  1. Ensure ex_pwned is started before your application:
def application do
  [applications: [:ex_pwned]]
end

Configuration

You can set the user agent for ExPwned (defaults to ExPwned Elixir Client) by specifying user agent in config.

config :ex_pwned,
  user_agent: "ExMustang Slackbot"

Usage

Using ExPwned is simple.

Check if an account is breached or not

iex> ExPwned.breached?("abc@example.com")
true

Check if a password is breached, and how many times

# True/False Check
iex> ExPwned.password_breached?("password123")
true

# Returns # of times password was seen in a breach. Zero if none.
iex> ExPwned.password_breach_count("password123")
5032

Check the breaches for an account

The response follows following patterns:

# result found

# for errors, the third arg is status code instead

# 400 bad request
