Now that GitHub has elevated the status of CONTRIBUTING.md, it'd be nice to preview changes to that file locally just as with README.md before pushing.

Yes! You can do that now =)

$ grip CONTRIBUTING.md

I just tested it using Gittip's to be absolutely sure. It renders exactly like it does on GitHub.
