Chewy diff allows you to verify changes in indices:
Add this line to your application's Gemfile:
gem 'chewy-diff'
And then execute:
$ bundle
Or install it yourself as:
$ gem install chewy-diff
Use two files as stream and check the difference in the input:
index_before = <<~RUBY
class CitiesIndex < Chewy::Index
define_type City do
field :name, value: -> { name.strip }
field :popularity
end
end
RUBY
index_after_change = <<~RUBY
class CitiesIndex < Chewy::Index
define_type City do
field :name, value: -> { name.upcase }
field :popularity
end
end
RUBY
Chewy::Diff.changes(index_before, index_after) # => [:-, "City[:name]", :+, "City[:name]"]
It supports define_type
with nested witchcraft!
, field
, and
field_with_crutch
macros.
Also support simple settings
verification.
index_before = <<~RUBY
class CitiesIndex < Chewy::Index
define_type City do
field :name
field :state
field :latitude
field :longitude
end
define_type Location do
field :name
witchcraft!
end
end
RUBY
index_after = <<~RUBY
class CityIndex < Chewy::Index
settings analysis: {
analyzer: {
sorted: { tokenizer: 'keyword', filter: %w[lowercase icu_folding] },
}
}
define_type City do
field :name
field :state
field :location
end
define_type Location do
field :latitude
field :longitude
end
end
RUBY
Chewy::Diff.changes(index_before, index_after)
# => [:+, "CityIndex#settings",
# :-, "City[:latitude, :longitude]",
# :+, "City[:location]",
# :-, "Location[:name, :witchcraft!]",
