Abbreviations

Using abbreviation well can make our code looks easier to read. However, different developer always has different abbreviation vocabularies that often makes more confusion than benefits. To eliminate the gap and have better maintenance, here lists down the abbreviation you should and shouldn't use.

Abbreviations You Should Always Use

  • bg = background
  • btn = button
  • func = function
  • ico = icon
  • img = image
  • intro = introduction
  • js = javascript
  • mod = module
  • msg = message
  • tpl = template
  • txt = text

Abbreviations You Should Avoid to Use

  • cont - Does it mean container, content, count, or continue?
  • grp - Does it mean grep or group?
  • exp - Does it mean experience or expire?

Note

You can add or remove abbreviation only when all team members agree.
