We recently did some modernisation work to bring support for Node 4.X. I think there might be one or two more minor changes needed to provide support for 6.X.

Did you try to build the module and it failed?

I haven't tried it, the docs just explicitly state that it works for much older versions so wanted to see if it was a fool's errand to try to compile on newer versions, I will try it
