I wouldn't be surprised though. This deserves investigation. Some test case that could be run in IE generating memory leaks would be very helpful. Just a style note, we always set things like this to null. |
Yea.. sortInput is overwritten and objects are released. ( I commented it's leak for the last call. ) But sortInput holds many backbone views for my test case. :( And, It seems there is any reason to remain the sortInput to me... |

in other words: this fix does not prevent a memory leak but reduces the amount of memory which is retained by jquery which would otherwise (when this fix is applied) be free'ed by GC. |
What are users or libraries doing that results in large numbers of nodes referenced only within a transient array that will be released by the next jQuery call requiring a sort? I'm eager to see some real-world code demonstrating this supposed problem. In the meantime, though, @dongseok0 please update the comment to something like "release memory" and change the assignment value to |
