Description

The ABSIS Nano 2.0 is a small RS485 slave device, capable of driving 11 Digital I/O (with 5 PWM pins available) and 8 analog inputs. Additionally, it has an 4-pin accessory power connector. (12V, 5V, 3.3V, GND) These are condensed into maximum density pin headers, with the intent to daisy chain 5V and GND/Common as required on the panel side wiring connections. At each end of the PCB, there is a standard ABSIS BUS connector, and 4X #4/3.5mm compatible mounting holes.

Type of change

Please delete options that are not relevant.

  • New ECAD (new PCB)
  • Breaking change (fix or feature that would cause existing functionality to not work as expected)
  • This change requires a documentation update

How Has This Been Tested?

PCB Has not been physically tested, however it does pass all DRC requirements.

Checklist:

PCB/ECAD:

  • Requirements definition
  • Schematic completed
  • PCB routed
  • PCB constrained by physical footprint limitations
  • PCB critical component location requirements met
  • Schematic/PCB reviewed
  • BOM generated
  • Gerbers generated
  • MCAD generated

-Updated Schematic with 10k Pullup Resistors for all Switches
-Updated Schematic, changed to 10K Pullup resistor on SCL, SDA, and INT
-Updated PCB with Pull-up Resistors for Switches
Added Pullup Resistros to AMPCD
Fixed missing connections
This is an ABSIS Bus Master which utilizes a 4-pin power in from the pit PSU, and 3x MAX487 chips to drive three RS485 buses. The data and power buses have been combined into a six pin bus. This PCB is a shield for an Arduino Mega 2560 R3.
Added Testpoints to PWR SUPPLY (12V, 5V, 3.3V, GND) + RS485 Channel A & B of BUS #1 - BUS #3.
Created ABSIS Nano 2.0 template
Adjusted ECAD files structure
Added ABSIS Nano 2.0 project

TODO

ABSIS Nano

  • Change schematic BUS Connectors to match PCB order. (Cosmetic change.)
  • Consider if fusing is required.
    - Fusing not required due to protected PSU output to bus.
  • Add power planes.
    - Added 12V plane on back plane.
  • Fix adjacent pin bridges. (Move out from direct bridge to "U" bridge.)
  • Add silkscreen box to write reference designator on the PCB.
See PR ABSIS Bus Master #267 for review comments from @MrMagicMan.
