Android Studio 2.3.3 + Checkstyle-IDEA 5.8.1
Checkstyle 6.19 (but this is also fails on 8.0). Commandline checkstyle works fine

Thanks for the report. This appears to be related to the checkstyle.suppressions.file property - it looks like the entered value is being lost. I'll try and investigate why this weekend.

I also encountered the same problem with the landlord, but also reported the error, please the author as soon as possible to solve this problem, because my project immediately on the line, and more urgent

My project is not only more immediate and but also more urgent :-p

@jshiell told that he will look at it during weekend, so there is no point of rushing him, unless you want to make own PR ;-)

This should be fixed in 5.8.2. It looks like the change detection had broken and wasn't checking property values - hence any property changes without any other changes were just abandoned.

I've also fixed the bug that resulted in the !unable to parse configuration stream! message. It should now tell you the actual error.
