This project has now own a brand new repository: Meet Talus!

🕶🕶🕶🕶🕶

What is this?

A script to help you set up your development enviroment on OSX. It was custom made for me, so before you run it, please read the code, comment or add what you need. You can use it as an example to write your own script that fits your needs.

What it does?

Installs:

Add Some basic packages:

  • wget
  • curl
  • ffmpeg
  • node
  • nginx

Install apps (that I use):

  • dropbox
  • disk-inventory-x
  • mplayerx
  • vlc
  • skype
  • mailbox
  • airmail-amt
  • twitter
  • sublime-text
  • transmit
  • vox
  • github
  • iresize
  • mou
  • paparazzi
  • the-unarchiver
  • unrarx
  • miro-video-converter
  • adium
  • cloud
  • dropbox
  • evernote
  • torbrowser
  • transmission

Apps for development:

  • iterm
  • atom
  • sublime-text2
  • macdown
  • firefox
  • google-chrome
  • opera
  • virtualbox

Fixes some OSX annoyances:

  • Save to disk (not to iCloud) by default
  • Disable press-and-hold for keys in favor of a key repeat
  • Fast keyboard repeat rate

Misc:

  • Link Sublime Text command line

Specific npm global modules for webdev:

  • Gulp
  • GruntJS
  • Bower
  • npm-check-updates

Usage

Clone it, make the file executable

chmod a+x start.sh

Run it

./start.sh

Then

./webdev.sh

That's it!
