Backspacing from unstyled text into a list adds a list character

Backspacing from unstyled text into a list directly above it deletes characters as expected, but also adds the relevant character for the list above (bullet or number). This means it is picking up the styling across paragraphs (with hard breaks), which could have other implications as well.
