Description

In plugin manager if you sort by enabled and then change the state of a plugin by clicking on the checkbox the row moves/jumps. This is expected, but lack of transition animation makes it a bit confusing

Reproduce

transition

Expected behavior

Transition animation is shown to reduce user confusion

Context

  • JupyterLab version: 4.1.6

From experience with other applications, I don't think that checking or unchecking the "Enabled" box, while sorted by "Enabled", should cause a row to jump in position. I think that sorting should be a one-time operation; if a user wants to re-sort a previously sorted column, they should click (twice?) the column again.

Good point, this is indeed how Nautilus in GNOME behaves too
