Icons view missing?

IDK what I did but the new icon view does not show up anymore. I looked through all the settings and for the life of me can't see where I went wrong, it was there then it wasn't. I even tried installing from scratch on a fresh build and still no icons! please help!

@xyzfre Thank you, it was doing my head in! Another icon question you might be able to help me with. Where do you put your icons so they don't get removed in an update?

Just don't put the icons in the skin as the skin folder gets overwritten on update.

When selecting the icon, you should be able to keep backing out further to get to your file system (and can add sources for locations in file manager).

I had originally put them in the icon folder but once the update pushed, they were gone. Right now I can only move up 2x in the folder hierarchy, I think that’s the skin’s folder. I’m afraid if I put my icons there, it’ll be wiped next update too. If you are anyone knows how and where I can put my icons without deleting, that’ll be great.

You should be able to press back on the remote to go back another level. There won't be a ".." but if you press back again it will take you to your sources folder.

You can't put anything in skin folder because Kodi deletes the whole folder and then unpacks the zip when you update.

Couldn’t figure out how to add a special source in the file manager that worked so I just added special://database because I knew that one works and just put the folder in there.
