Running tests on PHP 8 requires using a recent PHPUnit version.

Travis no longer offers free CI for open-source repositories, so this repo was left without a running CI.
I migrated it to use GitHub Actions instead.
I also updated the testsuite to be compatible with PHP 8 (by using newer PHPUnit versions for them) and the new CI setup runs on those versions.
