Search field stealing focus

Not really a SkypeTab issue per se, but maybe something it might be able to fix? I'm experiencing the search bar being too damn greedy and stealing the focus, but I'd rather have it default to the text field in the conversation window - right now I end up calling <random word/phrase> a lot of times. :(

Would this be something skypetab could be able to alter, or is it too far into the Skype core to be fixable?
