Hey, guys, I just wanted to create this issue to clarify what everyone needs to be working on moving forward into this weekend and the beginning of next week so that we can complete this project.
Liz -- Please finish up going through all of the poems in the Johnson folder under "Individual Poem XML Documents" so that Tylar and I can finish the SVG graphs. We can't finish them without that markup, and we can't move forward until the graphs are done. Also just a reminder about finishing up the poet bios when you get a chance -- I'd really appreciate it if you could do the figurative language markup, first, though, so that Tylar and I can move forward.
Also Liz -- Once we get the SVG graphs on an HTML page, I'll need your help with typing the paragraphs of analysis on what the graphs show.
Tylar -- Your biggest job right now is the SVG graphs for the punctuation. I created SVG documents for you based on the X-axis and Y-axis scales that I used for the figurative language graphs. They're labeled for each punctuation -- comma, period, semicolon, and one for all 3 put together in stacked bars -- and those documents are in the SVG folder on the repo. All you need to do is open them in Oxygen to add the bars. Please do this ASAP -- I want to start putting the graphs on an HTML document soon.
Also Tylar -- If you can look into why the poet photos are coming out weird on the browser, that would be great. Play with the CSS document and try to make them all the same size, and maybe try to do the flexContainer idea that @ebeshero mentioned in class today so that the photos appear to the right (or left, whatever you're feeling) of the actual biographical text.
What I'm doing -- I'm finishing up the Figurative Language graphs and the Johnson Poem Collection page, once the markup gets done. I'm going to add the links to the poem collections on the top of each poet's individual page, too, so that you don't have to go back to the Poem Collection tab to bounce between each poet. I'll add a list of the poets on the home page as well, as well as a more clearly defined area on the website that lists our sources -- Poetry Foundation, Poets.org, Google for the pictures, etc.
If you guys could please like this issue and/or comment on it when you read it so I know we're all on the same page, I would greatly appreciate it.
Reach out if you have any problems or concerns or questions or anything like that!
