XLM airdrop #3513

You don't. The only way to ensure that you are real users who didn't create GitHub or hackernews accounts for the sole purpose of receiving the drop is to disallow any accounts made after the announcement. |
@plttn > You don't. The only way to ensure that you are real users who didn't create GitHub or hackernews accounts for the sole purpose of receiving the drop is to disallow any accounts made after the announcement. Ever heard of KYC? |
And Keybase isn't a bank and doesn't have the infrastructure to handle verifying government issued identification. |
That maybe so but they are effectively employing members to market. Bussinesses need at least a small budget for marketing. Memberships are the best form for advertising growth through social networks. It's a question of Keybase's marketing strategy. Maybe I am wrong but I see they have been very clever in accumulating the numbers but targeting potential developer membership through Github. Qualifying membership identity through Github does not come into it. I think the airdrop is very generous but are taking precautions that could have been handled differently to level the playing field. |
Everyone who is eligible. Eligible is defined as having a Keybase account older than 9/9, or a Github or Hackernews account older than 9/9. There's no other way at scale to avoid massive amounts of botting. (sorry your Github account was made on 9/10 i guess) |
Guess thats the way the cookie crumbles. Thanks for the interaction. |
Oh... by the way.... I am not a bot. ;-) |
@rmolinos per the update on https://keybase.io/airdrop

@alexandrestein i have same issue. |
Hello,
I saw your post about the XLM airdrop from your twitter account that posted yesterday. I immediately signed up but now its saying that I am not eligible? I am assuming because I signed up on the 9th but that was when you guys posted about the lumens drop drop via social media, how can I fix this so that I am eligible for the airdrop????
